to the 2026 ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting in Bruges, Belgium
Welcome to the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting of ISHA – The Hip Preservation Society!
The 2026 ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting (ISHA 2026) will take place on Thursday 8 to Saturday 10 October 2026 in Bruges, Belgium – a beautiful medieval city where a far-reaching heritage in medical innovation meets cutting-edge modern institutions. Based at the easily accessible venues of Bruges Meeting & Convention Center (BMCC) and Concertgebouw Bruges, the ISHA 2026 congress will take a "roots to sky" approach, welcoming all – from trainee to expert – to participate and improve their knowledge and skills in hip preservation.
The Scientific Programme will be split into Basic and Advanced combined education and research sessions on a selected range of key topics. In addition, attendees will be able to enjoy a range of other exciting sessions, including re-live surgeries, inspiring keynote lectures, case discussions, free paper presentations and partner society symposia. Pre-conference activities, including regional interest groups and a Basics in Hip Arthroscopy session aimed at early-career professionals, will take place on Wednesday 7 October 2026, while our physiotherapy and rehab colleagues will enjoy a post-conference PT and Sports Rehabilitation programme on Saturday 10 October 2026.
On the social side, we look forward to plenty of time to catch up with our friends and colleagues and foster new relationships and meaningful discussions through the Welcome Reception, Trainee Networking Hub and Gala Dinner.

Dr Filiep Bataillie (Belgium)
Local Host Chair
Active as a hip and spine surgeon since 1991, Dr Filiep Bataillie was one of the first surgeons in Belgium to start performing hip arthroscopy, as early as 1993. In September 2023 he became Medical Director of AZ Herentals. His special interest lies in discogenic and non-discogenic sciatica and the proximal hamstring pathology.
Dr Oliver Marin-Peña (Spain)
Scientific Programme Chair
Dr Oliver Marin-Peña has been a hip orthopaedic and trauma surgeon for over 20 years and currently serves as Senior Consultant of the Hip Surgery Unit at University Hospital Infanta Leonor, Madrid. His private practice is at Hospital La Luz, Madrid, where he oversees clinical research and develops hip surgery and clinical visits for hip complex cases. His particular focus lies in the treatment of young patients with hip problems that require specific conservative treatment, hip preserving surgery and hip arthroplasty (primary
and revision).
Dr Nicolas Bonin
(France)
ISHA President 2025-2026
Dr Nicolas Bonin is a founding member of Lyon Ortho Clinic, a team of 9 surgeons fully involved in one specific joint, working with specialised sports physicians and physiotherapists. He specialises in hip surgery, from sports medicine to total hip replacement with anterior minimal invasive approach and
revision hip surgery. He is nationally and internationally renowned in hip arthroscopy and as such he is sent patients coming from all over France requiring specific expertise.

The ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting is the flagship event of ISHA - The Hip Preservation Society, bringing together worldwide hip specialists to share the latest knowledge, experience and thought in the growing field of hip preservation. This scientific meeting, now in its 18th year, is one of the leading congresses of its kind, known for the calibre of its faculty, its multidisciplinary approach and its welcoming community feel.
ISHA 2026 will take a “roots to sky” approach, welcoming all, from trainees to experts, to participate and improve their knowledge and skills in hip preservation.
